Error codeHIGH PRESSURE
ApplianceBlast Chiller
Pressure switch opened
The HIGH PRESSURE message tells you that head pressure has gone beyond 29 barg (425 psig). On the touch screen version it is displayed at the moment the pressure switch opens.
Three things the manual lists
The condenser may be clogged.
The condenser fan motor may have stopped running.
The pump down valve may fail to open while the compressor is on.
Handy details
Current models carry only a high pressure switch.
That switch resets on its own once pressures come back into the normal range.
Remote chillers working in a pump down configuration do not show this message.
Anything on the refrigeration side is for a technician.
Covered chillers
UCBF659, UCBF559, UCBF632, UCBF532 and UCBF432, each with the touch screen controller.
Alarms about temperature instead
If the issue is air temperature rather than pressure, read HIGH TEMPERATURE (air above its limit) or LOW TEMPERATURE (air below its limit).
Blast chiller repair for San Francisco and the Bay Area
When HIGH PRESSURE keeps coming back, San Francisco and Bay Area owners can call (415) 329-7078. Tell us the model, whether the condenser fan was turning and what you looked at. More on our U-Line freezer repair page.
Model compatibility: U-Line reuses codes across series and model years, so HIGH PRESSURE may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
