Error codeE6
ApplianceRefrigerator
The two meanings
Newer series, including the ice machine families sharing the code list: thermistor 2 shorted.
Echelon and Origins: thermistor 1 has been sitting at least 10°F colder than the set point for more than 12 hours. The CLR2160 is excluded.
Where to read it
Newer units do not announce a thermistor fault on screen. Faults go into memory, and just a door error gets displayed with a beep, which means E6 has to be looked up in the error log, listed in order of occurrence.
What to do
Owners get no remedy from either manual. One warning is there, though: leave the thermistor differential setting alone, because the manual says it should not be adjusted. If E6 comes back, note the model number and the wording shown, then arrange service.
Booking U-Line refrigerator service near San Francisco
Call (415) 329-7078 to arrange U-Line refrigerator service in San Francisco and around the Bay, or read U-Line refrigerator repair beforehand. On the call, give the code, the model number and any steps already taken.
Model compatibility: U-Line reuses codes across series and model years, so E6 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
