The 24 in refrigerator is a working kitchen appliance

At 24 in wide, the URRE424 is the largest refrigerator in the Seamless group. Unlike a drinks cabinet, it often serves as a second refrigerator for a family: overflow groceries, beverages, produce for a week, a holiday platter. It is catalogued for indoor and outdoor installation and built to fit in line with surrounding cabinets.

What a long run time can tell us

Owners often describe the compressor as running all day. A refrigerator that never rests may be fighting a warm kitchen, a leaky door, or a failed defrost or sensing function. On some control platforms an alarm exists specifically for compressor runtime between defrosts; the reference for E4 describes that condition as 100 percent runtime between two defrost cycles, though not every control reports it.

Alongside that, the pair of temperature alarms E5 and E6 describe a cabinet that drifted ten degrees F or more off target, high or low, for upwards of twelve hours. A message like that tells you the unit has been wrong for half a day, not just a moment.

Where it fails in a larger cabinet

  • Larger door, more weight on the hinges, so alignment problems show up sooner.
  • Greater air volume to move, so a weak fan or a blocked return is noticeable on the shelves farthest from the evaporator.
  • More frequent opening, which raises moisture inside and can turn into frost near the cooling surface.

Outside checks only

  1. Confirm the door closes by itself from a hand’s-width opening.
  2. Keep the grille clear and the area in front free of storage.
  3. Verify the outlet and breaker.
  4. Do not let packed containers press against the rear wall.
  5. Record the display message before any reset.

Used as a second refrigerator

A 24 in refrigerator often takes the overflow from a main kitchen unit, so the load changes a lot: empty in January, jammed in November. Heavy loads reduce internal airflow and make a marginal seal show itself. If the problem appears only during peak loading, tell us, because that points to circulation or door contact, not necessarily a failed part.

Write down the temperature of a few items, front and back, upper and lower. Differences of several degrees between the front and rear shelves are a diagnostic clue, and they help us decide where to begin before opening anything.

If the unit is under a counter that also hosts a dishwasher or oven next to it, mention that too. Heat from neighbors affects what the cabinet has to overcome.
