The ARI121 is the combination model in U-Line’s ADA group: a 21 in refrigerator with an ice maker built into the same cabinet, designed for indoor use at reduced height. Combining the two gives a compact kitchenette or accessible bar everything it needs, and it also means a complaint can start in either half and spread to the other.
That is why the first thing we ask is not “what is wrong” but “what did you notice first.” A cabinet that warmed up and then lost ice production tells a different story from one that kept food cold while the bin stayed empty.
Before we arrive, it helps to jot down two short notes, one for the cooling side and one for the ice side.
When both halves fail together, the shared parts move up the list: power, airflow, the control or the refrigeration side. When only one fails, the search narrows quickly.
A cabinet can be perfectly cold and still make nothing, because ice also depends on water reaching the ice section and on a batch finishing its cycle. Owners can check the visible part of that: the shutoff valve for the supply line is open, the line is not kinked where it can be seen and nothing is leaking onto the floor. Following the line inside the cabinet or loosening any connection is a technician’s step.
We check the cabinet cooling first, because a warm cabinet can stall ice production on its own. Then door and airflow conditions, then the water and ice-making section, then sensors and controls, and finally the refrigeration system. The order can flip when the ice side clearly failed first.
For the ice half, see U-Line ice maker repair, and for the cabinet side U-Line refrigerator repair. Anything displayed can be compared in the U-Line error codes archive once you know your control. When you are ready, contact us with the model, the serial number and both of your notes. The visit ends in a written estimate, and nothing is repaired until you say yes.
With the water side: whether supply reaches the ice section and whether a batch freezes and releases. A cold cabinet does not rule out a stalled ice cycle.
Yes. A cabinet that cannot hold temperature can interfere with ice production, which is why cooling is checked before the ice section.
Frost or moisture there can point to a door seal problem, a water issue or a cycle that is not finishing. Photograph it and note when it appeared.
One controlled reset after saving any message is reasonable, but repeated resets erase the history that helps diagnosis.
